Master Kim is a graduate of YONG-IN University, where, in 1980, he received a Bachelor of Science in the Martial Arts. In 1980 He was a member of the Korean Olympic Trial Team. Master Kim came to the United States in 1984 and settled in Chicago. There he met and began training Arlene Limas who, in 1988, went on to win an Olympic Gold Medal for the United States. Upon moving to Memphis, Master Kim established Kim's Academy. Since then, Master Kim has helped hundreds of students achieve their own personal level of success in the Martial Arts. Kim's Academy was originally established in 1982. Master Kim became the Head Instructor in 1986. The school curriculum consists of three components: traditional Tae Kwon Do, Judo, and Hapkido. The school is sanctioned by: The World Tae Kwon Do Federation (WTF); The Kukkiwon, World Headquarters for Tae Kwon Do, Seoul Korea; Yong-In University, Yong-In, Korea; United States Tae Kwon Do Union, Olympic Training Center, Co.; and United States Judo, Inc., Olympic Training Center, Colorado. From the school's inception to the present day, Kim's Academy continues to press toward its goal of providing physical and mental training that will forge a healthy body and a clear mind.
